Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains what information Wild Cider (Summit Cider and Beverages LLC) collects through wildcider.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. This site is for adults 21 and over.
Information you give us
- Newsletter. Your email address and, if you share it, your first name. Our mailing list is managed in Mailchimp.
- Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you add it, and your message. We keep these in our website’s admin and email them to our team so we can reply.
- Orders. Online orders are placed through VinoShipper, which collects your name, shipping and billing details and payment, and verifies your age as the law requires. Card payments are handled by VinoShipper’s payment processor and never pass through this website.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics. Shows us which pages people visit, how they found us, what kind of device and browser they use, their approximate location (city level), and which buttons they tap, such as call, directions or add to calendar. It uses the cookies listed below.
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. Our hosting provider counts page views and measures how fast pages load. Neither uses cookies or follows you to other sites.
Google handles Analytics data under its own policies; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage:
- wc_age_ok — remembers that you confirmed you’re 21 or older, so we don’t ask again for a year.
- wc_nl_dismissed_at — kept in your browser’s local storage to remember that you closed the newsletter pop-up, so it stays closed for a while.
- vsCartId — set by VinoShipper to keep track of your cart.
- _ga and _ga_… — Google Analytics cookies that recognize returning visitors. They last up to two years, and they’re never set if your browser sends Global Privacy Control (see below).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete the age cookie we’ll ask your age again, and if you block VinoShipper’s cookie the cart can’t remember what you add.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal (Brave and DuckDuckGo do, and Firefox has a setting for it), we don’t load Google Analytics for you at all. The older “Do Not Track” browser setting has no agreed standard, so we don’t respond to it; GPC is the way to opt out. You can also install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
How we use information
- To fill orders and answer your questions.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for.
- To understand how the site is used and make it better.
- To meet legal requirements, including age verification and the rules for shipping alcohol.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with the services that run this site and fill your orders, each under its own privacy policy:
- VinoShipper — online orders, payments and shipping compliance
- Mailchimp — our newsletter
- Google — website analytics and the Cider Finder map
- Vercel — website hosting, page-view counts and speed measurement
- Resend — delivers contact-form messages to our inbox
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Cider Finder
The Cider Finder map is provided by Google Maps. If you tap “Near me”, your browser asks your permission first; your location is used only on your device to sort nearby results, and we don’t store it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser, or turn on Global Privacy Control.
- Email us to see, correct or delete the information you’ve given us.
Age requirement
This site is for adults 21 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 21; if you believe we have, email us and we’ll delete it.
Keeping information safe
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No website can promise perfect security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
